Khalid Al-Maskari has been COPE’s Chief Information Officer since 1997. He has over 15 years experience in information privacy and security and graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Computer Engineering. Khalid then obtained an MBA in Healthcare Administration. While working towards his MBA, COPE offered Khalid a consulting job and soon after was hired as a full time employee.
In addition to numerous technical certifications, Khalid is credentialed as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is certified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Khalid served as a member of the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) and was Co-chair of their Security Workgroup and Security Juror for the Electronic Health Records Certification.
In his spare time, Khalid has travelled throughout Europe and the Middle East, enjoys watching sports and is a self-professed “foodie” who enjoys partaking in new gastronomic experiences.
