HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) launched a new program to further support combating the nation’s opioid crisis. The Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) expands access to substance use disorder (SUD) treatment by adding several new disciplines, including bachelor’s-level SUD counselors, behavioral health paraprofessionals, and clinical support staff. The program also broadens access to the clinical best practice of a “warm handoff” and recognizes the effectiveness of integrated SUD treatment teams.
Eligible health professionals can receive up to $250,000 in exchange for a six-year, full-time service commitment at an expanded variety of SUD facility types. Find out if you’re eligible and apply for the STAR-LRP by July 22, 7:30 p.m. ET.
COPE does not determine eligibility for loan reimbursement through the HRSA STAR LRP program.
