On Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, COPE staff presented a workshop at NatCon23 in Los Angeles, CA. This event is the largest conference in mental health and substance use treatment — with thousands in attendance — and is presented by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. COPE was the only Arizona-based provider selected to present a workshop at this conference.
Elizabeth Moran, M.D., MAT Medical Director, Siobhan O’Boyle, Chief Compliance & Operations Officer, and Laura Santa Cruz, Director of Integrated Clinics, presented on Integrated Innovations in Substance Use Disorder Treatment at COPE, providing a blueprint for other organizations looking to implement similar services at their organizations. The presentation included information related to MAT treatment services provided to adults and youth, the integration of Hepatitis C treatment, and well-woman exams, including Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) implants in the OTP setting.
One of COPE’s values is Community Collaboration, and this conference provided an opportunity and a unique platform for our organization to deliver this value. It was a privilege to share information that improves the quality of life and well-being of those we serve — to attendees from across the nation — fueling the momentum to expand care and access to vital services to many more individuals in need.
